As part of Local Crate’s subscription e-commerce platform, we created an algorithm that automatically selects a subscriber’s weekly meals based on dietary preference and purchase history. This lets subscribers “set it and forget it,” and still receive an exciting delivery of fresh ingredients and chef-designed recipes each week. A custom email notification system tells subscribers what was selected, letting the more hands-on customer log in and personalize their crate. Since launch, Local Crate has gained several hundred subscribers and shown a far higher than expected retention rate. We were pumped to polish off this custom web application and let them focus on the food.
